The Federal Public Defender's Office for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island represents indigent defendants facing criminal charges in the federal district courts in those three states.  The Massachusetts office, located in Boston, opened in 1980.  The New Hampshire Office, in Concord, opened in 1995, and the Rhode Island Office, in Providence, opened in 2003.  Our offices also provide support to lawyers on the Criminal Justice Act panel and other criminal defense lawyers practicing in federal court.
